[NTLUG:Discuss] eth0 problem....

Recently, I installed and internal modem into my linux box.  I have it
jumpered to com1, irq 4.  I have had a 3Com NIC (PCI) in the box for a
long time working just fine. After I intalled the modem I started
getting the following error message out of no where:

eth0: transmit timed out, tx_status 00 status e000

This message will come up over and over at the command prompt and even
the login prompt.  I have no idea what I did, but I must have done
sumtin' <shrug>

any suggestions on how to correct this problem?
