Using the command below, you can specify a different directory other
than /etc/skel when adding users. If the user does not have a shell
account, then I see no reason for them to have a .bashrc file.
adduser -m -k /root/skeleton_dir/ testingaccount

: Hello all,
:
: I am using RH 6.2, and I am wondering how I might create a /etc/skel
: file, for users with ONLY mail and/ or web accounts. Do I need to provide a
: .bashrc or any other configuration files, if I am not providing them with anything
: more than an email and/ or web account(s)? Some of the web acounts may have some
: limited access to CGI scripting (ie. chatrooms) with their web accounts, if that
: makes a difference.
: If there is already a How to, FAQ, or some other reference material,
: please point me there first. I have been unable to locate any pertinent info about
: this, but am willing to RTFM if there is one.
:
: Thanks
: Kevin
