: I have looked, but have not been able to find an answer. I have a
: machine that I am using for a dial-up line tester (it dials up to
: different pops and verifies connectivity) that is on my local LAN.
: Currently to get the dialer to work, I have to shutdown the lan, dial,
: test, kill pppd and ifconfig ppp0 down, then bring the LAN back up...
: when I leave the LAN up, I get an error that says I am not allowed to
: use the new IP that is being assigned by the dialup. I feel I am
: missing a switch on pppd. Any ideas?
:
: It has been too long since I used pppd directly, the GUIs have made me
: lazy *snif* :^(

have you looked at at /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifup-ppp? might
find some hints there.
