Learn C/C++.
More jobs seem to exist for that language. If you learn C/C++, then
Java, PHP, Python, are all very similar and easy to pick up.
My second choice (Please, no flames, I don't like this either) is to
learn Visual Basic. There are a lot of VB jobs out there also. VB is
very Rapid Application Development (RAD) type of language, and has a lot
of the other ones beat in the ability for a novice to put together an
application quickly.
Notice I did not says "good" and "well", or "great" along with the words
Visual Basic. Any programmer can put together bad code in any language.
A great programmer can use any language and make great code.
