[NTLUG:Discuss] can't ping to 2 NIC box

woah. I must have missed something. What does "eth0:1" mean for an ip
interface? Why do these private interfaces not appear to connect to the private
interface on SA? Are these just window's problems? if eth0 of SD does connect
to eth1 of SA, have you rebooted it _3_ times since setting up the network
configuration? (Another ridiculous "feature" of windows98) Where is the hub
that the private network attaches too? Do you want SA to be a gateway to a
private network? The gateway would then be the public address...

Yes, I can ping local interfaces.
Actually, both boxes have two ips, one is public (64.100.100.x), another one
is private (192.168.100.x).
don't have anyproblem to ping with puvlic ips.
the problem is just can't ping each other with private ips.

adsl-network switch
      | | |---SC eth0: 64.100...
      | | eth0:1 192.168.100.1
      | |--------SB eth0: 64.100...
      | eth0:1 192.168.100.2
      |
     eth0: 64.100...
      SA
     eth1: 192.168.100.3
      |
      |-------------SD eth0: 192.168.100.4

SB,SC,SD have gateway set to 192.168.100.3 (SA)

SC,SB can ping each other

SC, SB can ping to SA with ip 64.100...
SA can ping to SB, SC with ip 64.100...

SC, SB can not ping to SA with ip 192.168.100...
(when ping, just Hang on there)
SA can not ping to SB, SC with ip 64.100...
(when ping, error msg: destination Host Unreachable)

SD can not ping to SA with ip 192.168.100...
(when ping, SD [window 95 box] error msg: ??? timed out)
SA can not ping to SD, SC with ip 192.160...
(when ping, error msg: destination Host Unreachable)

This is my layout, and problems. thank you.
