: I am thinking seriously of upgrading from RH4.2 to RH6+. Understand
: that I do this reluctantly and only because I purchased a commercial
: PGP license and it won't run on 4.2. Grrrr! Also I see many new GUN'ed
: programs that now require much more than I have added to 4.2 so think
: it may be a good time to move forward. :>)
Just curious, what does a commercial PGP license get you that the GPL'd
Gnu Privacy Guard (GPG) cannot provide? To my knowledge, it is fully
PGP5 compatible. Anyway, just curious...
: As I was reading RH's material shipped with 6.1, I did not see any
: reference to installing a virtual desktop or configuring for follow
: focus. Since I use these two features constantly, I want to be
: absolutely certain that they haven't been dropped from the RH
: distribution.
:
: Question: Does anyone have RH6.1, say, installed and running a virtual
: desktop and follow focus?
I assume you are talking about X-windows features. Both focus model and
virtual desktops are handled by the window manager, so it depends on
what you run. Configuring these features is trivial in the several
window managers I've used (currently Blackbox). Right now, I have 5
virtual desktops and use the sloppy focus model (focus follows mouse).
Anyway, you can "be absolutely certain that they haven't been dropped
from the RH distribution." I don't even use RH, but I can guarantee
that it's included. ;)
