Well I think I've tracked down my problem with the lockup on the
Athlon.  It seems that if I run kdeslide with no sound it runs fine. 
However if I turn the sound on the whole system locks up hard as soon as
I start playing the game.  I can do a scramble ok but as soon as I move
a piece it croaks.

Anyone know where I can find aureal drivers for the Vortex2 chipset?
