It's not that bad. Admittedly, it was a little frustrating at first, but once
its up, its up. I had a qmail up and running with only three months linux
experience. Granted it takes some time to learn how to do it, as does anything
worth while. All things considered, it takes dramatically less time to set up
qmail for good than in being an ongoing member of sendmail's exploit of the
month club. That is of course if you even care about security. I've got other
things I prefer to do than patch sendmail. And performance wise, there's really
no comparison: qmail stomps sendmail every which way. It's small, fast, and
secure, and has never been comprimised.
"Life with Qmail" (http://web.infoave.net/~dsill/lwq.html) will get you going in
no time. Just slow down, read carefully, follow the directions, and it will
work wonderfully.
