I have the UMAX Astra 610S (SCSI) and it works fine with pretty much any
SCSI adaptor that Linux supports. I've tried it with three or four
different ones over the past year and have not encountered any problems
yet. It's currently connected to an AHA152x - shared with a CD-writer.
Dunno about the 2200 - but I doubt it would show any problems.
If you do a search for the 'SANE' scanner driver homepage, there is a big
compatibility matrix that you can use to check out what works and what
doesn't.

Unlikely. USB support is still horribly raw. Maybe RH 7.0
would work - but I wouldn't bet the farm on it. The SANE website
might enlighten you some more on this.
SCSI support is rock-solid though.
