Here's a simple question for you Linux gurus out there.
I have to change my local network designation because I need
to have access to my company's VPN in California, and it just
happens to have the same designation.
So, I want to change the IP address of my Linux server to
199.234.55.11 from what it was.
I changed the following files for just that reflection:
/etc/hosts
/etc/nsswitch.conf
I rebooted. I do an ifconfig and the first entry for *eth0*
stays as it was since its the card going to my cable modem.
The second entry, for *eth1* shows "no change" either. So,
my network is still hung up on the old IP addresses.
I'm on a different machine than I do most of my "work" on
and I haven't changed it yet. So, it still gets out.
So, what ELSE must I change to get the IP addresses all set
correctly ??
If I'm not perfectly clear here, then maybe a phone call might
be in order. (972) 496-3939
Thanks
