Glad to at least point you in the right direction.
Each SCSI controller manufacturer seems to have their little "features"
that others don't. One setup might work one way, but will cause all
kinds of wackyness if you do something so simple as (in your case) add
an IDE drive as a secondary drive.
SCSI usually works flawlessly if everything is right (including drivers
and OS). An sometimes it's a pain trying to find out where the problem
is, especially when the OS is at fault (can you guess which OS?).
Anyone ever tried to install NT onto a SCSI disk off of an Adaptec RAID
adapter while booting from an IDE CDROM drive? Kept getting an
'NO-ACCESSABLE BOOT DEVICE' error even though I loaded the danged driver
from the driver disk. The only way I could ever do it (and hope to
never have to again) was to use the floppies, which is a problem when
you don't have them available. Yeesh!
