I have Verizon for my DSL Line and Directlink.net for the Bandwidth.
It took about a month for my service to stabilize but it has been rock
solid ever since. They give static IP's only (last time I looked) so the
DHCP ugliness is avoided. You do pay a little higher than other providers,
but I feel it is well worth it. Support folks are clueful and available at all
hours of the night. I think they also officially support Linux as well.
The only downside I've found is that they funnel all HTTP traffic through
a caching proxy.

If you have any trouble sounding condescending,
find a Unix user to show you how it's done.
