[NTLUG:Discuss] NIC Woes, resolved. And question.

Greetings,

After much hammering and pounding my brain I finally resolved that I had a
defective NIC. I felt it was unlikely that I could have three bad NIC's in
a row, but after a friend loaned (then gave) me his Linksys NIC, VIOLA!!
Worked just like it was supposed to. Linksys NIC's I felt had always had
wierd drivers that didn't always seem to work properly. This time was no
exception, but with just an ever so slight bit of tweaking it worked
perfectly!

Just goes to show, be weary of hardware bought at Fry's.

Here's my question: When I try to add accounts to my RH 7.0 box and try to
set the passwords it says that the passwords weren't changed and I cannot
log into my new accounts because the passwords I provided aren't
recognized, which forces me to delete the account and start over since I
cannot change the password either. Now the accounts that I created when my
RH box was 6.0 still work just fine, all I did was an upgrade. Any ideas??
