I'm a little surprised that that would affect boot-up.  Look at line 2252 of
/usr/src/linux/Documentation/Configure.help.
This is a setting of CONFIG_IP_ADVANCED_ROUTER in the kernel.  When you turn on
ip_forwarding:
echo "1" > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward
you get the rp_filter for ip spoofing.  There are other ways of enabling ip
spoofing tho.

I got this message when I reboot the box.

PROBLEM SETTINH UP IP SPOOFING PROTECTION
Control-d will exit from this shell and continue startup.

Give root password for maintenance
(or type Control-D for normal startup):

why does it happen?
After entering password, what should I do?
could anyone help?
