just wanted to give some general tips:

[1] check for updates for your distro
[2] check your distro's bug database
[3] check the program's homepage for bugfixes and other notices
    http://www.tuxedo.org/~esr/fetchmail/NEWS
[4] check the program's mailing lists (fetchmail has a mailing list,
    but i don't know that there is a searchable archive)
