[NTLUG:Discuss] getting remote X servers?

hello all,
How do I display a remote computer's X session on my local computer?  I 
remember seeing something, but of course, forgot the file to edit!
Also, are there some good Linux application servers out there?

And I don't mean to make this a long one, but how do I close ports that nmap 
says are open?  would it be w/ipchains?
