As for the tags being "backwards", he was de-lurking at the beginning, and
the going back into lurk-mode at the end.

As for the hyperlink, the mailing-list manager for the mailing list
automatically appends info to each email message.  Your client probably is
smart enough to recognize the link, and displays it as such.
