Hi Dennis and All,
I was wondering what program you are using
to boot
Linux with. I would imagine that a possible solution is to reformat the
hard drive with DOS and try to use loadlin. There might be something
screwed up with the drives master boot record. .
There are a number of hard disk utilities at the Western Digital web
site that are free that can check out and might possibly repair some
problem.

P.S. It sounds like, someone ran NT on the drive previously. There
might be some NT utilitys on a boot floppy that can do some fixes
and mods for the hard drive or by reattaching the drive to an
NT system. There might be some conversion programs to help.
Also the program Partition Magic might help also.
