[NTLUG:Discuss] Anyone using a USR Sportster 33.6 external?

Hello:

I am trying to use my USR Sportster 33.6 external modem on 
my Linux box, but the throughput is very choppy.  It transmits for a 
short time and then stops and then starts and then stops etc.

I can change the pattern of the choppiness by messing with the 
init string, but I cant get it to stabilize.

Is anyone out there using a Sportster 33.6?  What are you 
using for your init string?
