[NTLUG:Discuss] slimscsi 1480 experience

  I believe I posted a request for help on a slimscsi 1480 from Adaptec.

  Just plain luck solved the problem.  To make the card work, 

1. install the card with the laptop powered down. No hot installs here!
2. install the peripheral and have it powered up before you power up the
laptop.

  It works then!  Any other combination locks the laptop and forces a big
red switch power down.


  This site might be of some use.  It lists pcmcia cards that work under
linux, but are not officially "supported":
