Aviplay IS included in a distribution. Even more: it's included in Debian, 
not the distribution you would think for this kind of thing... but you're 
right, you have to place the dll's needed for operation in a dir yourself. 
The program points you to the site where you can get them, though 
(euro.divx.ru was the site, IIRC)
