[NTLUG:Discuss] Internet Explorer?

Okay:

Dumb question time.  Can the Unix or Solaris version of Internet
Explorer be installed on a Linux Distro, Debian even, or are we talking
a whole different set of libs here?  I am being told that it can, and
(sadly), my school has embraced the darkside and become an all Microsoft
shop, to the extent of taking point off from students who do not use MS
