[NTLUG:Discuss] Respawning error

I have only ever run into this one on an old SVR3 system and the issue
there seemed to revolved around so called "smart" ports on a 16 port
ethernet card, and so it always involed some /dev/tty*.  A number of
things could kick it off, but the answer was usually to kill the PID.

Not sure any of that will help.
