Ahh, a religous war brewing...

Personally, I prefer emacs over vi.  Simple reason is that I can keep
track of a lot of heirchical keystroke assignments easier than I can
keep track of modes.  Other peoples minds work just the opposite and can
handle modes.  So, for sake of my sanity, I stay with emacs (actually
xemacs).  Both are very useful environments with radically different
interface philosophies.

I happen to run Linux under emacs, or is it the other way around?  ;-]
