According to Cisco's website, the 1720 (which you stated you have in
your previous email) supports Cisco ConfigMaker. ConfigMaker is a MS
Windows app . that you can use to install up to 4000 series routers
without any knowledge of IOS. The link to ConfigMaker is:

Well, there is "CCNA for Dummies" - it supposedly covers everything you
need to know to pass the CCNA exam (I say supposedly as I have never
read the book but just read the synopsis and the TOC online). If you
have a good enough foundation to pass the exam, you should be able to
tell what people are doing to your router(s).
Or, if you want the information straight from the horse's mouth,
consider "Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices" ($54 on amazon.com).
This is the text of the class you would take for the CCNA. Very good
book - I have this text.
