Fry's in Dallas off of Northwest Hwy. has really low prices. Keep in mind they
also have a reputation for carrying bad parts. Expect to go back to exchange
items (whether you do or not isn't for sure, but expect to because it's common).Microcenter in Richardson off of I-75 (Spring Valley exit) has a pretty good
selection, but isn't the cheapest. CompUSA and Best Buy run about the same
price (BBY might be a little lower) and carry a pretty good selection as well.
Motherboard: I tend to stick with Intel, Tyan, and Asus.
Case: If you plan on getting inside it often like I do, get one with a side
panel that opens. The main thing to remember for cases is the power supply,
probably. 300+ Watts minimum go in my machines...esp. if you have the latest
and greatest 3d video cards.
CD-Rom: If it's just a regular CD-Rom (not cdrecorder or DVD), then just find
the cheapest you can get. If DVD, I dunno. If CD-RW, I have heard good things
about Memorex, Iomega, and Pioneer, and HPs (except the 7200i?, which has some
sort of problem).
