There are about a dozen solutions, not all well known. QNX comes to
mind, PICK is not well used, Solaris is available, others are out there.

Too complicated is when I try to do something simple and M$ helps me out
without telling me. For example, I tried to help a user add a symbolic
entry to his 'hosts' file. OK, easy enough, except that I forgot he
could not see the file extensions, so it was being saved as
'hosts.txt'. Once we found the magic incantations that allowed him to
actually see his directory, the problem was obvious (F2 to rename and it
worked). That's complicated!
