Everyone,
Thank you for the responses we have gotten so far. Since the overwhelming
majority were requests for additional info, here is what I know about our
server:
It is a mid-tower sized VA Linux VARstation.
The website generates an average of about 75 Mbytes/day.
We have 7 mailing lists (using mailman) that generate a total of about 250000
outgoing messages per month ((maximum number of messages per month * number
of recipients) for each list). Even at 10k / message, that is pretty
insignificant.
We have 3 fairly active local user email addresses, still much less than the
outgoing mailman message lists.
We have 5 local newsgroups handled by innd. There have been less than 300
posts in the 10 months they have been active.
For about the last 3 years, Hex Net (and then after the merger Hypernet
Communications) has been providing power, bandwidth, air conditioning and
floor space for our server for the princely sum of $0.00.
Rick
