This is to the person with the Sony VAIO notebook at the LIP on 21 July:
(Sorry, I am _very_ bad with names).

Based on the lspci info and according to:

you have a Rockwell/Conexant Winmodem.


Potentially fortunate for you, there are some links to some proprietary 
drivers that you can try out (from a French(?) site):
