Greetings!

The Central Texas Chapter of the IEEE Communications/Signal Processing
Society invites you to attend our August meeting and presentation
by Neil Trickey of Marconi Optical Networks.

DATE August 16, 2001 6:30 PM

LOCATION SBC Technology Resources, Inc. (SBC-TRI)
           9505 Arboretum Blvd, Austin, Texas

TOPIC Network Management in the Optical Transmission Network

SPEAKER Neil Trickey
           TMN Product Marketing Manager
           Marconi Optical Networks

Since graduation from the University of Cambridge in England,
Neil Trickey has 28 years in the computer and telecommunications
industry with experience in operating systems, transaction
processing systems, and network management. While working for
Wang Laboratories, Neil became one of the early contributors to
the world of network management standards, in which he remains
the ITU-T Project Editor for numerous International Standards.

ABSTRACT Network management is now a very important factor in how
operators conduct their business and their relationships with
their customers. This presentation will discuss management of
optical transmission networks, including MPLS and GMPLS.

********* The presentation is open to chapter members and non-members.

********* Free food and beverages will be served to attendees.

RSVP If you plan to attend, please send e-mail to Howard Headrick
at hfrjr at swbell.net for planning purposes.
