[NTLUG:Discuss] Boot Up help

I am using Caldera Open Linux 2.4. I am using the boot disk to boot into 
linux(dual boot system) and I need help.

I forgot what the command is to boot up linux... this is what I have tried:
at the boot prompt
root=dev/hda5
root=hda5
root=/dev/hda5

and some others but I always get, kernel not found.

Can someone help me?
