So often the problem seems to boil down to what is available in your
area - but I wish you good luck at any rate.
Now some suggestions/information:
(1) Concentric (owned by XO) will do DSL, if the local telco can support
it to your location.
(a) www.concentric.net www.xo.com
(b) I got my first dialup account through them 5+ years ago, and I
am still with them.
(c) I would have gone DSL with Concentric (I tried to) but Verizon
can't support it to my home - that means no one can provide me with DSL.
(b) I still have my dialup account because I travel some and
Concentric has local numbers all over the country.
(2) Is cable modem available in your area - I get it through AT&T @Home
and it seems to be pretty good.
If you decide to go Concentric, give them my email address and if I get
anything for the referral I split it with you. I got a T-shirt once,
but the latest referral says I am supposed to be looking for $50.00
(which I have promised to split with him as soon as I get it - I think
it takes 60 days or so).
