The problem was a conflicting entry in the registry at
Network Solns. The name server for our zone was
originally www.friscobible.com which had an IP that
was internal to the church's network. Since they
do not have a full time system administrator, I pushed
the NS for the zone to be at their provider's location
which is buz.net (entries for that were changed
at Network Solns per my request). However, I failed
to remove the name server host record for www at
Network Solns and that's were the conflict occurred.
Last night as a result of an expedited request, NSI
removed the errant host from their registry...
Everything should get fixed within a day or so...
your DNS caches should get 209.80.37.35 instead
of the bad entry 216.91.201.104.... check em
if you desire.. many caches already are reflecting
the correct value.
Thanks for everyone's help on this.... the solution
came from zoneedit.com (a registrar) who very nicely
did the troubleshooting on this.
Regards,
Chris
