How about an IBM thinkpad setup of Redhat?

Yep.. it's a free-for-all celebration in September... well
Nokia probably isn't going to let us get too wild...
What I need are some volunteers who will bring in their
computer systems for demonstration... that is, you'll
need to bring a complete working setup (please only
normal 110V 15amp devices). You'll need to bring your
own powerstrip/ups and cabling. We may get some
long CAT5 cables to hook up a temporary lan.
What I need are representative machines....
For example... a Desktop Centric Lintel:
Stephen Klein is bringining in a multimedia Intel based
workstation platform.
We can probably get Rick to bring in a PowerPC platform
(probably a desktop config).
We need a server config (RAID, LVM, SCSI, whatever... maybe
acting as a firewall, possibly multiple NICs... etc...etc)
I'd also love to see an Alpha or Sparc or maybe something
else running Linux (other than Intel).
If you think you have a good unique configuration... let
me know... if you're not sure... let me know. Space will
force us to be selective... but I'll consider anything
(go ahead and press my buttons!).
I will need a good textual decription of your hardware/software
platform and a guess at its categorization (which I may
change depending on number and types of entries).
For example (this is one of my machines):
Cappuccino G1 (world's smallest all-in-one PC)
Intel i810 chipset
1Ghz Pentium III
256M
30G
DVD
SuSE 7.2
XFree 4.1.0 full DRI 3D accel
TV/Video out
i810 Sound (no mic yet)
PCTel WinModem (ick...almost works though)
IRDA
USB
Serial
Parallel (for printer or floppy)
100Mbit ethernet
Xine with essential tweaks ;-)
(perhaps I should have encrypted that line)
VMWare 2.x running Win98 from partition
StarOffice 5.2
KDE 2.1
Linux 2.4.7
If you do volunteer... PLEASE try to make sure you can come
to the Sept meeting! Many people may want to bring their
machines in... I would hate to turn someone away and then
have someone not show up.
Let me know your Linux!
Chris
