Clarification of terms:
Terminal Server: a system which manages asynchronous serial communications to a 
                 variety of external devices or systems. No X needed for that!
X-Terminal: a system which provides basic X-Window server functions (runs an
            X-server and window manager, and possibly even a desktop) by which
            a user can access X-client applications which may be executed 
            (processed) from a remote system. Thin-client - possibly diskless.
