[NTLUG:Discuss] Hello

well, I sent a message to the list, with my /var/logs/messages pasted into
the e-mail, but apperantly it is too big for the server. I got this message
from the server:

Your mail to 'Discuss' with the subject

    RE: [NTLUG:Discuss] Hello

Is being held until the list moderator can review it for approval.

The reason it is being held:

Message body is too big: 83960 bytes but there's a limit of 40 KB

Either the message will get posted to the list, or you will receive
notification of the moderator's decision.

So I guess I will wait to see if it goes through :) Anyhoot, I saw a couple
of questionable things in the messages, but I really dont know what I am
looking at, so I would feel more comfortable with someone who knows looking
at it. I do have another question though. I downloaded Star Office 5.2, and
it is a bin file, how would I go about installing this? Is there some
documentation or something someone could point me to on how to install a bin
file? I have done rpm, reallyu easy, and tar.gz with the make before, but
never a bin file. Thanks, and I will be at the meeting saturday wioth my
laptop :)

P.S. I tried to fill out the membership form on the NTLUG website, and when
I hit the submit button, it took me to a page can not be found page. I tried
the feedback to let the admin know about it, but the feedback form did the
same thing.

2 things to check:

is there any info in /var/log/messages concerning the connection
failure?

try doing an ifconfig before you start a download and then again
once it fails. Check to see if you are getting a lot of errors.
