I tried StarOffice for mail, too, and walked away.
Pine is good.
Netscape: All the way up to 4.76 there are lots of bugs in the mail 
product, but 6.1 seems promising - I am trying that one out now.
Surprize to me, Ctrl-x, Ctrl-c, and Ctrl-v, in Netscape 6.1 on Linux act 
just like they would on Windows, instead of having to use Alt-x, Alt-c, 
and Alt-x. Other things are scarily like MS as well, but the address 
book seems to be working!
