[NTLUG:Discuss] Open Office

Have you looked at www.openoffice.org to determine where they are in their
work? Have you, perhaps, downloaded and compiled/installed their latest
build?

Perhaps you should also look at the developing KWord (part of the KOffice
suite), which also stores in native XML?

Open Office is still very much a work in progress...but it is progressing
very well now. It seems you're just a bit premature for the stability and
maturity these suites will need to be fully functional.

Subject: [NTLUG:Discuss] Open Office
Hi, I am looking at an application that generates Open Office documents
amongst other formats. Has anyone had any luck or positive expierince using
Open Office. I know Star Office 5.2 is a precursor of OpenOffice it but
does not use XML document definition. I am interested in documents using XML

definition. -- I am a newbi so be careful and kind --
Bruce
