Ia m trying to set up an LDAP server at home. With the intent to verify my
linux login, and some test webpage logins, off the same point. So far I
have the slapd running with the defaults that are installed with Redhat 7.1.

A few questions though:
Am I going to have any problems with the fact that I am on a dialup
sometimes. I know I can jsut set the server to 127.0.0.1 or localhost.

Do I need to worry about any conflicts with a DN s? or are they just in play
when connected to the LDAP server itself.

Does my rootdn need to be the same style as my suffix? I assume it needs to
be.

When enableing LDAP authintication in authconfig 4.1.6 I am giving a `Use
TLS` option. But I am not sure what this is to know if I need to.

I tried the LDAP Howto from LDP, and didn't have any real luck getting more
then it installed. Things quickly got over my head. My goal is more of a
need it to learn then a need it for a purpose, and that howto.. well does
anyone have a slightly more laymen's howto for ldap serving.

Thanks,
  Josh Miller
