[NTLUG:Discuss] Volunteer projects in Dallas area

As part of the recently discarded-like-used-Kleenex class, I've decided to use the
time I have available to me to work on something I've always enjoyed doing:
Promoting Linux/open-source alternatives through our schools. Does anybody have
and contacts/info on efforts already underway to volunteer time/materials/know-how
to area schools (or even non-profits/religious organizations)?

A cursory web search turned up several defunct organizations in the Dallas area, so
there's no need to send me links to DCLP, the Waxahachie group, PEP, or anything
else that shows up in a Google search. I'm more interested in learning about work
being done that someone *personally* knows about. A name, a phone number (or a
weblink if you personally know of a valid one).

I'm also open to the alternative of starting something new, like a non-profit
computer recycling organization or something along those lines. I've done this
sort of volunteer work before, and would enjoy doing something similar again.
