Mike,
	I think we all miss Ricochet. There is other alternatives, Sprint sent
me an e-mail for a free aircard 550 wireless pcmcia card (regular
299.99) and 2500 minutes free for 60 days. You keep the modem whether
you decide to pay for the service after 60 days or not, and there is no
obligation. What is the catch you say? it works on the Sprint PCS
system, and is limited to 19200kbps. yes this sucks, but its free and if
you travel as much as I do, it works to get e-mail  but is nothing like
the Ricochet 128k network. If you would like, I could forward you the
e-mail they sent if your interested. But, hopefully someone will buy the
Ricochet network, and get it back up.
 BTW, there was an article in the RCR the other day that the city of New
York asked Metricom to turn the network back on for the recue and
cleanup relief. It is on for another month there.
