as was discussed and speculated about a short time ago, directlink went
down the tubes - luckily they were acquired by another isp (waymark).
other than a short outage during the transition, which was solved with a
phone call, their service has been 100%. 

it appears that broadband (at least dsl) can be compared to what isdn
was several years ago - a solution looking for a problem.
