Nope. ActiveState has a Linux distro as well. I had installed the
python.org distro via the normal configure and make route on Redhat. My
sysadmin does not like anything that is not a package so he installed
via the only Debian package available for 2.1.1, which was ActiveState.
The client installed via ActiveState as well, but with a Redhat
package. A real mix for compatibility issues. Was not all compatible.
Had to find out where.

We're running on Linux because I refuse to pay M$ for their slop when
there's absolutely nothing we're doing that requires M$ for
functionality. Considering that this package is going on a large server
farm of 40-50 servers, keeping that much money away from M$ has its own
bit of satisfaction.
