Alan--

You may have profited immensely from reading the entire thread before 
jumping in with your rant.

Steve very carefully explained somewhat earlier that there is a world-wide 
shortage of people who have the requisite skill at doing high-level 
simulation work--and that it takes years to develop it.

I presume his company among others is grooming other programmers to be able 
to do it as they gain experience, too, for few would happily carry on with 
only one person qualified to do a job critical to their success.

Since Steve is from Britain, I doubt he would be doing work there at a 
significantly lower rate than he gets here--and I also wonder if there are 
sufficient American programmers qualified to judge his work output from a 
code level.

You have obviously reacted to some very bad examples of people abusing the 
system within *your* experience, not at all based upon the facts as already 
laid out at some detail in this case.
