Thanks!  I'll check them out.  FWIW, the apt-rpm link didn't resolve, but a 
search got me http://distro.conectiva.com/projetos/42.

Umm, I don't agree, but I realize it's a personal thing.  One of the reasons I 
like the SuSE distro is that I think they have a nice balance between OSS and 
Commercial (which I do believe has a place no matter what RMS thinks. :-)
