I copied vmlinuz-2.4.3-20mdk from mandrake's /boot dir into /dev/hda1,
which is the directory mentioned in lilo. I also added the stanza for
booting mandrake
with image=vmlinuz-2.4.3-20mdk. But I still get a rapid series of errors
scrolling across
the screen, and the boot process hangs.

I have the dmesg file from startup attempt and subsequent cntrl-alt-delete
when mandrake hung.

I have the boot.log, too, but it's pretty long, so won't post unless it
might add something.

I see msgs about reiserfs not supported by kernel. I enabled reiserfs when
I installed both
mandrake and suse, so I don't quite understand that one. Also I see mention
of
"dependencies file /lib/modules/2.4.4-4GB..." which puzzles me, cuz that's
a call to suse, not mandrake. Soooo, I'm not there yet.
