I just looked on groups.google.com. It is only a locale configuration
issue.

"http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&threadm=3B5244B8.60D3C56D%40hotmail.com&rnum=1&prev=/groups%3Fq%3D%2Bperl%253A%2Bwarning%253A%2BFalling%2Bback%2Bto%2Bthe%2Bstandard%2Blocale%2B%2528%2522C%2522%2529%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26safe%3Doff%26site%3Dgroups"
I'd also play with the locale command to make sure it's working. locale files come in the glibc package.

Subject: [NTLUG:Discuss] perl: warning: Falling back to the standard locale
("C")

I keep seeing this pop up whenever I do various things (run mcc, aumix,
whatever).

I tried upgrading the locales and locales-en packages to the newest
versions (I run Manduck with a 2.4.13-7 kernel) because i saw that in a
posting somewhere as a fix.

But it still ain't fixed.

I keep getting the message. More specifically, it looks like this:

perl: warning: Falling back to the standard locale ("C").
perl: warning: Setting locale failed.
perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings:
        LANGUAGE = "en",
        LC_ALL = (unset),
        LC_MESSAGES = "en",
        LC_TIME = "en_US",
        LC_NUMERIC = "en_US",
        LC_CTYPE = "en_US",
        LC_MONETARY = "en_US",
        LC_COLLATE = "en_US",
        LANG = "en"
    are supported and installed on your system.
