[NTLUG:Discuss] virus scanning

Howdy!

I'd like to scan email for viruses, particularly targeting those benighted
masses running Mr. Gates abominable software.

I think what I'd like to run is qmail and qmail-scanner on a mail gateway,
which would then relay to the pop3 box.

I'd like to avoid breaking the bank, too.  Freedom, not free beer - save
the bucks for the booze, if you know what I mean! :-)

F-prot seems to be a painless install, but I'm not sure how respected it
is, or how much it will cost once it is no longer a beta product.

Sophos is cheap per user, but it still adds up.

The open source antivirus project looks to me to be in a very pre-release
state.

Any suggestions?
