There was another post, regarding LILO and advantage/disadvantages...

LILO works fine for multiple OSs, BUT...you must remember to run the LILO

program after making changes to /etc/lilo.conf.  Without running it, the
changes will
not take affect...

GRUB, which was distributed with RH 7.2, does not require that you run
any program
in order to engage the changes.  It works a little different than LILO,
but basically does
the same thing.  It is just the latest/greatest  loader...

Either of these works great for multiple OSs, as well as multiple
distrobutions...
