What I did to get around this where I work was to use the IP address of
the corporate firewall in my /etc/hosts.allow file, not the domain
name. Works like a charm. You shouldn't have to worry about what port
is trying to respond back to your PC at work.
Also, another thing to check is whether or not your company allows port
22 out through the PIX. If not, you will have to set SSH on your home
system to respond to some other port (try 23 if they allow telnet out
through the PIX). Then, in PuTTY, you just need to change your ssh
connection to port 23.
